The Sauge & Soie app and the “Send my photos without the app” page let guests of an event (wedding, birthday, party…) whose website was created by the Sauge & Soie studio share their photos in that event's album, after scanning the “Photos” QR code displayed on site.
Data controller
Sauge & Soie — contact: android-apps@sauge-et-soie.fr
Data processed
| Data | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Photos you choose to share | Adding them to the event album | Event website |
| First name you enter | Showing who took each photo in the album | Event website, and your phone (so you are not asked again) |
| Anonymous identifier randomly generated by the app or the page | Finding “My photos”, limiting the number of uploads, letting hosts block abusive uploads | Event website, and your phone |
| Date the photo was taken | Sorting photos in the album | Event website |
No other data is collected: no account, no last name, no email (unless you give it when reporting a photo, see below), no contacts, no location, no advertising, no analytics, no tracking. No third-party analytics or advertising service is used.
Before upload, hidden photo information (GPS position, device model…) is removed on your phone by the app, and in every case by the server.
App permissions
- Camera: scanning the “Photos” QR code and taking photos from the app.
- Photos: only the ones you select in your phone's picker.
Who sees your photos
The event hosts, in their dashboard, and — if they chose to show the “Guest photos” page on their site — that site's visitors. Depending on the hosts' settings, photos are published after their approval or as soon as they arrive. Hosts can hide or delete any photo. The Sauge & Soie studio has access for technical support. Your data is neither sold nor shared with third parties.
Reporting a photo (“Report” button of the online album, also opened from the app): the reason you choose, your details and, if you give it, your email are sent to the hosts and the studio (notification email and the hosts' dashboard) to handle the report. An encrypted, non-reversible fingerprint of your connection is only used to prevent abuse. In the dashboard, this information is erased when the hosts dismiss the report, republish or delete the photo, and at the latest with the event website.
Retention
Photos, first names and identifiers are kept as long as the event website exists, and deleted with it. A photo deleted by the hosts immediately disappears from the website, the app and the album; the studio keeps it, out of sight, until the website is deleted, so that it can be restored after a mistake or used to handle a complaint. If you ask for it to be erased (for example because you appear in it), we delete it permanently.
Your rights
You can remove your photos at any time from “My photos” (in the app: long press on a photo; on the upload page: the cross on the photo), ask the hosts to delete them, or write to android-apps@sauge-et-soie.fr to exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure and objection (GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
Delete your data
Sauge & Soie app, published by the Sauge & Soie studio. To delete the data linked to your photos:
- One photo, right away: in the app, open the event, then in “My photos” long-press the photo and confirm “Remove”. On the no-app upload page: tap the cross on the photo. It is erased from the event website immediately and permanently.
- All your data, or if you no longer have the app: email android-apps@sauge-et-soie.fr with the subject “Delete my data”, stating the event (hosts' first names and date) and the first name you used. We erase your data within 30 days at most and confirm by email.
- On your phone: uninstalling the app erases the first name and identifier it kept.
Data deleted: your photos (all their versions: high definition, web, thumbnail), their capture date, your first name and your phone's anonymous identifier. Data kept: none by Sauge & Soie after deletion. The hosting provider's technical backups may keep a copy for a few days, until they are automatically renewed. Copies already downloaded by the hosts (or by visitors, if the hosts allowed it) are out of our control: you can ask them to delete them.
Security
All exchanges are encrypted (HTTPS). Photos are stored in a protected area of the event website and are only accessible to the people listed above. The “Photos” QR code contains a key specific to each event, which hosts can replace at any time.
Children
The service is not specifically aimed at children. Photos shared by guests are moderated by the hosts, who can remove any photo on request.
